The Istanbul Hepato-Oncology Summit will take place on 6–9 November 2025 in Istanbul, and on Saturday, 8 November, two dedicated sessions will focus on colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM).
These sessions will highlight the growing role of “onco-transplantation”, where colorectal cancer metastases are increasingly being considered within the framework of oncologic liver transplantation. The scientific basis and future potential of including selected colorectal cancer cases among transplant indications will be discussed in depth.
This represents an important shift that expands the classical boundaries of colorectal surgery and marks the beginning of a new era in metastatic colorectal cancer management.
Significant steps are being taken in this field, and I strongly believe that members of our School of Gastrointestinal Oncology, with their expertise and collaborative spirit, can play a leading role in shaping this evolution.
